Monksdown Primary School in Norris Green has been given some sound advice on staying safe near building sites by Countryside, as the house builder prepares to expand its NGV Liverpool development off Stalisfield Avenue.
The visit was the latest in a host of pupil site tours and health and safety assemblies since Countryside and Regeneration Liverpool’s 2011 launch of one of the largest new community developments in Liverpool.
During the visit, the house builder talked about the new homes currently being built adjacent to the school; taught pupils about the hidden dangers on construction sites and showed the children how builders dress to avoid injury.
NGV Liverpool has so far comprised a range of 169 new homes and is currently being delivered by Regeneration Liverpool, a joint venture between Sigma Inpartnership and Liverpool City Council, together with Countryside.
A further 24 two-bedroom properties are planned in the development’s next phase, which will be available for affordable rent with opportunities for low cost home ownership through registered social landlord Cobalt Housing.
Peter Vella, regional sales and marketing director for Countryside, commented: “Countryside has a proven track record of creating welcoming neighbourhoods and our ongoing engagement with Monksdown Primary School is an integral part of the transformation of Norris Green into a truly sustainable community.
“Since we launched the development, NGV Liverpool has seen us work in partnership with Regeneration Liverpool to deliver a range of high quality and affordable homes helping young families and first time buyers alike make that all-important step up onto the property ladder.”
Regeneration Liverpool’s current development of the Norris Green site also includes a proposal to provide improvement works to Monksdown Primary School, including extra playground space, a wildlife garden and a sports area.
Forming part of the second phase of Regeneration Liverpool’s six-phase £200m regeneration of the 63-acre Norris Green site, the NGV Liverpool development will provide approximately 825 new homes once complete.
NGV Liverpool currently offers home buyers a range of three and four-bedroom detached and semi-detached homes, with prices starting at just £123,000. Countryside is also offering the government-backed Help to Buy scheme across the development, through which buyers need only contribute a 5% deposit.
