We’re waving goodbye to summer and embracing the new season’s style by teaming up with Kerry Jane Interiors to get some inspiration for our autumn décor…

Throw away the rulebook this season because interiors are about to get bigger and bolder! Get ready for geometric shapes and theatrical undertones as designers showcase their latest jade, fuchsia and plum fused creations.

This bold new pallet will feature blue as its focal point, which creates an exciting contrast to the safer themes of autumns past. Frequently mixed with Moroccan styles, designers are mixing and matching beautiful blue shades to create a classy, ethnic vibe.

‘Graphic’ style furniture, wallpapers and artwork complement this theme perfectly, whilst clean origami inspired shapes, in both colourful and more neutral tones, offer a fresh development on the cool Scandinavian feel that was so popular in recent seasons. This look is teamed with more utilitarian elements to offer a very chic 2014 take on ‘minimalism’.

Drawing inspiration from summer fashion, tribal patterns are taking a leap from the catwalk into the showroom, as interior designers introduce geometric shapes and sophisticated colour pairings, including rich emerald green with coppers.

For a touch of glamour, metallic colours and metal textures are back in a big way as gold prepares to be the seasons most sought after colour. Mix with oxidised autumnal tones of greens, rich reds and burnt oranges for a luxury, high-end feel.

So whether it’s beautifully bold or golden glamour, the key to mastering this season’s trends is the continuation of botanical and geometric patterns as the focal point of any room.
